The Atlantic Legal Foundation is a nonprofit, nonpartisan public interest law firm with a demonstrable history of advancing the rule of law in courts and before administrative agencies by advocating for individual liberty, school choice, free enterprise, limited, effective government, and sound science in the courtroom. Atlantic Legal provides effective and decisive legal representation, without fee, to parents, scientists, educators, and other individuals, corporations and trade associations.

Summer Internship Opportunity

The Atlantic Legal Foundation believes that educating students about limited, responsible and effective government, free enterprise, individual liberty, school choice, and sound science is fundamental to the survival of a free society.
Atlantic Legal seeks focused, dynamic, and high-energy students or recent graduates with excellent research and communication abilities. Responsibilities and tasks include web research, writing, clerical and administrative tasks, and some data entry.
Atlantic Legal is a recognized leader in fighting for the integrity of the judicial process by ensuring that courts apply correct legal and scientific principles in those cases in which scientific and other expert testimony is offered. Atlantic Legal is also a significant participant in cases involving reverse discrimination, school choice, corporate governance, and equality before the law.
Atlantic Legal Foundation provides students (high school seniors, college undergraduates, and law students) several opportunities to participate in its work through the Internship Program. Atlantic Legal offers an educational and fulfilling experience while allowing students to develop research, writing, and analytical skills as they make a contribution to the rule of law.
The Summer 2008 internship application deadline is Friday, April 25 but candidates are encouraged to apply as early as possible inasmuch as positions are offered on a rolling basis.

Summer internships and the associates program runs for eight weeks and begins Tuesday, May 27. The program concludes on Friday, July 18. However, these dates can be flexible to suit an intern's schedule. Interns and associates receive an honorarium of $1000 for the summer, paid in two installments.

Off-Summer Academic Internship Opportunities
In addition to summer opportunities, the Atlantic Legal Foundation offers two students per season the opportunity to intern on a full-time basis. Typically, this permits students who attend colleges and universities that operate on the quarter system. These positions provide a stipend of $500 per month.
