Mr. Hauser serves as the senior lawyer in the Washington DC office. In this capacity, he is responsible for providing legal advice and counsel to the Senior Vice President of Government Operations in support of Boeing’s public policy and advocacy initiatives before the federal executive and legislative branches as well as the Company’s State and Local Government Operations.

Prior to joining Boeing, Mr. Hauser served as President of the National Legal Center for the Public Interest, which in 2007 merged with the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, DC. Before that, Mr. Hauser served as General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. He was nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the Senate in 2001 and served as the chief legal advisor to the Secretary and Principal Staff until joining the National Legal Center in 2004.

Before becoming General Counsel for HUD, Mr. Hauser was a partner in the Washington office of the national law firm, Baker & Hostetler. Prior to joining Baker & Hostetler in 1986, Mr. Hauser served as Deputy Counsel to President Ronald Reagan, the White House, from March 1981 to June 1986. He had previously served in the Office of Counsel to the President from 1973 to 1974.

From 1975 until 1981, Mr. Hauser was in private practice in Washington, D.C. He served in the U.S. Department of Justice as Attorney Adviser to the Deputy Attorney General (1971 – 1973) and as the Deputy Director of the Office of Justice Policy and Planning (1974 – 1975). Mr. Hauser began his legal career as law clerk to the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, from 1968 to 1970, and as Assistant U.S. Attorney, from 1970 to 1971, in the same district.

Mr. Hauser received a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, in 1965. He received his law degree cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 1968. He is a member of the District of Columbia, Florida and Virginia Bars.

Mr. Hauser was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Avenue Development Corporation in 1986 and named Chairman in 1987 by President Ronald Reagan and reappointed by President George H.W. Bush in 1992 for a term ending in 1998. He was also appointed by President Reagan to be a member of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes. Mr. Hauser served as a member of the Executive Committee, Comprehensive Design Plan for the White House, and as a member of the Mayor’s Task Force on the Downtown Area. He is a former director of the Washington Hospital Center and past Chairman of the Luther Institute in Washington, DC.

Mr. Hauser serves as Chairman, Board of Directors of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Mutual Funds, Minneapolis, MN, and as a member of the Governing Committee of the American Bar Association Forum on Air & Space Law.
